Learning trips

Important news

Since 2021, the learner’s permit has been issued to 17-year-olds!

What has changed?
Since January 1, 2021, you have been able to drive with a suitable accompanying person from the age of 17. However, you must complete a learning phase of 12 months before you can take the exam. The aim of this learning phase is to gain experience. We recommend that you complete a professional basic training course with us at the beginning of your driving training and then deepen this knowledge with private trips.
Everyone who acquires a learner’s permit before the age of 20 must complete this 12-month learning phase.

There is a transitional arrangement for the following years:

Transitional regulation
Year of birth 2002 – Driving not possible from the age of 17.
– Can obtain a learner’s license from the age of 18.
– LFA before 1.1.2021: no mandatory learning phase (12 months).

Born in 2003 – driving possible from the age of 17.
– Can acquire the LFA from 1.1.2021.
– LFA before 1.1.2022: no mandatory learning phase (12 months).

New law
Born in 2004 – driving possible from 17 years.
– Go through the mandatory learning phase (12 mths).

LFA = learner’s permit
Mt = months
